I have never noticed any pattern when it freezes. I check my emails, go on the internet, (I use FF). I don't really play any games and the computer is not really used that much. to answer your question, I use my computer when I get home ~6pm to ~6am when I go to work. Because it did not throw any errors before I fear that the problem might be with the MB and/or the CPU. I will take the modules to work to see if they are the problem of if it is the MB, (or something else). Hum, I just ran Memtest86+ and it is now throwing some errors. you are constantly refreshing the desktop for about 5 min then the comp freezes even if as I belive is not the case), but there is a question might solve your problem without getting too much troubleshooting all devices or software: Have you noticed when the problem occurs?(ex.while opening a particular web page or trying to resume from stand by or simply after a long period of inactivity) Regards

So the conclusion is what causes your problem I would say occurs during you do the same thing everytime occurs (ex. wake up in the morning start playing games, the same does in the next day and the next day and so on, you are using for browsing internet it's what you gonna do for a while by the time you may change the purpose of the computer in gaming one or whatever). From my computing experience I would say most of the comp users have a sort of "focus use" on the computer (ex. FFMG Hi, I was thinking I'm replying to the right thread by the time you mentioned that your comp freezes twice a day only::))). As for disabling everything, I will give it a try but it does sound like a very tedious exercise given that the OS only freezes twice a day so it could take me a week to turn everything off and turning them back on one by one and then wait a week. I have already changed my mouse, keyboard and disabled the Network adapter.

Hey? Are you replying to the right thread? No one ever mentioned anything about processor driver, (I wouldn't know where to get one), as for the bios update I already mentioned that I have the latest one.
#Skype freezing up windows 7 driver#
If none of the above applies should check the memory settings and thinking about updating the processor driver or reinstalation.
#Skype freezing up windows 7 software#
Any software causing the problem conflicts with a device that needs the driver to be updated or reinstalled. If you decide to perform a clean boot in safe mode disable most of the devices unused as lan/modem/ than in safe mode enable one by one untill the problem occurs then have a look to the Event viewer and place the error message. Hi, There are plenty suggestions as reinstalling the procesor driver or update it, or check the Bios memory settings, or just simply perform a clean boot/safe mode minimal and see if the problem still occurs.

The problem still occurs, windows 7 still randomly freezes from time to time for no real reason. There are no Windows 7 hardware as far as I know.

Well I finally got around to replace my mouse/keyboard with a USB Logitech, they are both 'Vista ready'. Hi, I would advise you before anything you are about to do regarding the problem, give it a try with a regular mouse and keyboard, also can give it a try disabling the modem from device manager. This application took longer than usual to start up, resulting in a performance degradation in the system startup process: Start > Control panel > System and Security > System > View Performance Information and Tools > Advanced Tools > View performance details in the Event Log > then click on the Warnings and ErrorsĪre there any third party programs said to be causing any issues?
